Our Pocket Percussion founder Luke is not just a teacher. He is very active as a working musician. Many schools and parents like to hire Luke for his "real world" industry experience. Being a good teacher and a working musician is rare these days. Many musicians only teach, leaving not much real world knowledge to pass on to students. Luke plays regularly as a session drummer and percussionist for multiple bands. He is currently touring and playing festivals with Murray Cook's Soul Movers, they have recently played Splendour in the Grass, St Kilda Blues Fest, Enmore Theatre and many more.

Luke lived in Nashville Music City USA for many years. Luke is now based on the Central Coast of NSW Australia. Luke is a studied musician with a diverse background. Having studied drums with famed Studio drummer Bernard Purdie ( Aretha Franklin, Steely Dan and many others. ) Luke also studied jazz with Dave Brubeck's drummer Joe Morello in New Jersey. Luke also studied classical percussion at University (Bmus) studied under Joshua Hill (Synergy Percussion , Sydney Symphony, Opera Australia)
